A deadlift of 3 reps of 230kg (507lbs). Not a PR but haven't deadlifted in a while. At 6ft 3 the bar has a hell of a long way down! Will be doing lots more in gym footage as we both aim to get stronger and more atheistic.

When I warmed up I left trainers on, just used tissue for hands and didn't put on a belt. As I got into the main sets, I took trainers off (for better grounding), applied lifting chalk and put on belt...all to make sure I could get out this lift safely.

I struggled a bit with the 230kg at points but overall it felt good and feel like I can get back up to my PR of 250kg (551lbs) for 2 reps and maybe even topple that by next year. Weighing in at 101kg (222lbs) here. Looking to gain some lean muscle and maintain at 106kg (233lbs).

I wanted to do a follow up video to my How to Pass Your ACE Group Fitness Instructor Exam on YouTube; I will link the video in this post as well. But I got to thinking about my path to teaching fitness. I have been into fitness for 10 years. I used to play with the idea of becoming a fitness trainer or teaching group classes but fear always held me back. The fear of not being a good instructor; being judged, completely messing up my routines was paralyzing. Does this sound familiar?

I have always been a very shy, quite and reserved person (unless you happen to know me well, I will loosen up). The mental picture of me being in front of a class and having to speak loud and instruct was very scary for me. The key to not letting fear drive you away from SERVING others is to realize your talents are not for you to keep to yourself. The more I teach the more I realize that the world needs more people that are willing and HAPPY to teach others how to make the most out of their lives. The world needs more people that will teach proper form and if it’s in the scope of your business the world needs more people teaching what food is healthy and what food isn’t.

You see, this isn’t about you; it’s about serving others. Once I started looking at my fear from that perspective, it became a no brainer…that no matter how afraid you may be you have to do this. Not to say that you fear isn’t legit, I mean, mine was…but when we face our fears we become stronger. On your first day of teaching you might stumble and make a mistake but we learn from our mistakes by making them. Not by thinking about them.

"Get Ups and Go" Circuit:
5 Turkish Get Ups, Left
25 Two-handed Swings
5 Turkish Get Ups, Right
25 Swings

Set the timer and get in the flow with this 'Stretchy jean-friendly' workout!

10-30 minutes will have you moving, breathing and feeling less stressed all around.

You need basically no space, one piece of equipment, and you can even do it barefoot.

How perfect for the busy woman??👍💪

Quick side notes:
* If your kb swing and TGU weights are really different, then you can use two different bells, of course.

OR just focus on really snapping the hips hard/explosively--without arching the low back--and see how high you can get the bell to float, like I did here.

*No KB? Not a big deal. Use a sand ball, dumbbell, jug of water or shoe balanced on a closed fist for the Get Ups and do 25 athletic jumps or 50 Reverse lunges instead of the swings.

The teenager charged with killing a man at Windsor Terrace apartments Tuesday had been out of jail for only 47 days.

Police say Julian Pasley shot 18-year-old Malik Blackstock once in the chest.

Friends say Blackstock was working to turn his life around before his daughter is born in July. Now he’s the fifth person shot to death in the city this year.

Pasley reportedly told a witness the shooting was an accident and that she shouldn’t talk to police.

He was previously charged with attempted first-degree murder in 2013.

Two small children were found with drugs at a school in north Alabama.

The DeKalb County Sheriff’s office says the kids intended to sell the marijuana.

The pre-teens were arrested by the school resource officer at Crossville Middle and High school.

A suspect has been arrested after a Dalton man was killed walking home from church in December.

Paul Guerrant was found lying on Dozier Street. Police say he was punched several times in the head.

Now 26-year-old Aaron Howell has been charged in the crime. Police are still trying to determine the motive.

An attempt to legalize medical marijuana in Tennessee is dead for the season.

The bill failed in the General Assembly. But the sponsor says he’s optimistic about next year.

Senator Todd Gardenhire says a vasectomy is tougher to get than an abortion.

The state lawmaker spent time on capitol hill Wednesday talking about his personal vasectomy.

The comments came after Senator Sara Kyle lashed out against proposed regulations on abortion including a waiting period, asking why there was no waiting period for men to get a vasectomy.

Gardenhire said quote, “when you start talking to a doctor about them whacking on you down there, you want to wait a while and think about it.”

The bill mandating a 48-hour wait for abortions is expected to be voted on soon.

Chattanooga’s fire chief has retired after 29 years with the department.

Lamar Flint was named chief in June 2013. In the meantime, Chris Adams has been appointed interim chief.

More officials are resigning from Habitat for Humanity of Cleveland.

Executive director Matt Carlson and operations director J. Michael Watkins both left in March after an audit.

Now two finance committee members, Chris Conine, and Shibu Joseph, have left as well.

The Chattanooga City Council is being sued by a former clerk.

Sandra Freeman says she was fired in December as retaliation.

Her lawsuit claims Carol Berz and chairman Chip Henderson made secret changes to job descriptions to make her ineligible for her job.

Councilman Moses Freeman said the staff restructuring was an immoral and illegal way to fire workers.

Freeman is asking for back pay, forward pay, and for legal fees to be covered.

The Red Bank Police Department and former officer Mark Kaylor are being sued.
Candido Medina-Resendiz claims the police created a culture that shielded officers and let them feel they could beat a suspect with complete impunity.

The lawsuit comes after video showing Kaylor repeatedly punching Medina-Resendiz during a traffic stop in 2013.

Kaylor has since been charged with aggravated assault and resigned from the force.
